Open (free) textbooks

April 22, 2009

FlatWorld Knowledge provides textbooks  that are free to use in their online version. They are on college level, but some of them could be useful for HL high school students as well.

There are books on Accounting, Economics, Finance, General Business, Information systems, Management and Marketing. Some are published in March 2009, but even more are on the way to be published this year.

There are several 1 minute long introduction videos on the site – a very quick way of learning a little more about what this is.

The textbooks are free, students can also buy downloads of a chapter or a whole book to listen to on there ipods.

Teachers can modify the books for their own class use if they want to! Students can highlight and share there thought on the books contents with others.

Now we’re talking Open textbooks!
